Golf course sinkhole turned out to be abandoned century old wine cellar | SWNS

A golf course groundsman was stunned after a sinkhole revealed a hidden 19th century wine cellar packed with empty bottles. Steve Hopkins discovered the brick vault beneath the 13th hole at Davyhulme Park Golf Club, believed to be part of the long demolished Davyhulme Hall. The site is now sealed off while engineers and historians from Trafford Council assess the historic find.
