Karmelo Anthony Murder Trial: Jury seated after prosecutors removed three potential Black jurors

(KTVT/CNN Newsource) - A jury was seated Wednesday the Karmelo Anthony murder trial in Collin County, but not without a contentious dispute during jury selection. Defense attorneys objected after prosecutors used peremptory strikes to remove three prospective jurors who were Black. The defense cited legal rulings in an effort to block the strikes, but Judge John Roach overruled the objection. A panel of 12 jurors and six alternates is now in place, with testimony expected to begin Thursday.
