Spring Prune, "Let's Dance, Blue Jangles" Hydrangea - February 26, 2026

One of 3 in my yard. Blooms on both old & new woods so it will bloom regardless. 1. Remove 2 to 3 oldest stems. They are non-productive and will died back if not removed. Rejuvenate the plant. 2. Remove dead/diseased 3. Cut back to a strongest set of buds from top 4. Remove excess branching. Less branching produces larger blooms 5. Cut stems going wrong direction or sticking too far to neighbouring plants. 6. Lightly shape, if needed. The above reduces clutter, hence improve air flow and sun light.
