At SMAU London 2026 we interviewed Philippa Chick, Portfolio Development, Intel Capital. We asked her from her experience why is important to build the right culture for a successful AI implementation and how to select the right AI use cases can add a real value to the business: “I think what's really important is that AI adoption and strategy comes from the leadership team, and it really is a top down and bottoms up exercise. So it's hugely important to identify, around the company strategy, what are the key use cases that really AI can lean in and support the company with. And then to identify how to take the people along with you. So how do you really embed that into your goal setting, your KPIs, your reward structure, your training. So you really work towards AI together as an organisation. And I think that's where you really see winning cultures that twin commercially. I think choosing the right AI use cases can be incredibly difficult, because there's no shortage of AI companies and AI products and solutions out there. But I think what's important is to start with your organization. So rather than look at the products and try and slot that in and find a use case, identify your use case and then really browse what are the opportunities out there. So do it the right way around. Start with your company your values, and then we'll look for the solution”.
