Description

Burgertime is a hit from the golden age of arcades that isn't talked about that much. As fun and silly as the gameplay is - creating giant burgers while avoiding hostile food - it didn't have the cultural staying power that many other games from the time have. It certainly had sequels and spinoffs released during the decades - some of them in arcades, other not - but it just doesn't seem to have been as fortunate as the likes of Pac-Man, Space Invaders and others. Burgertime Deluxe for the Game Boy is different from the other arcade entries we've played recently in that it does more of its own thing. It takes the general premise of the original and expands upon it, providing a unique experience that has its own charms. It's still a very fun game to play and it remains utterly silly in its premise, one that I had a lot of fun with. That there's a password and continue system which allows you make progress even during short play sessions, though those seeking high scores will want to try and complete it without continuing. I may not complete the game in this video - and there is indeed an ending to the Game Boy version - I still think I showed off much of what this game offers and said offering is pretty fun. I recommend anyone that enjoys arcade ports should give this a try, albeit with the knowledge that this isn't trying to be fully faithful to the original. So, what's next? Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is out and so it's time to once again delve into the beautiful world of Moominvalley and its whimsical charm. I'd like to say that it's not common that I let's play games so soon after their release, but it's happened quite a few times in recent years. How things changes and yet, I am just as much me as I ever was... and yet not. Time sure is funny, isn't it? See you next let's play!
