I had a delightful time visiting the @louisvuitton x Murakami pop-up in NYC this weekend 🩷💚💜 The pop-up is located on 104 Prince St. in Soho. It features both new pieces from the recent collection as well as archival favorites. In the basement, there is a fun little movie to watch and there is also a room where you can bring your vintage Murakami pieces for repair. Unfortunately, the café has closed after the first two weekends. I waited about 30-40 mins to get inside but there was a virtual queue so I could grab some coffee in soho and relax while I waited. When I visited this past week, the pop-up did have some of the products in stock, but not many. The only bag that was available was the neverfull. And then they also had some smaller products in stock, such as belts, dog collars, scarves, and sunglasses. For every product that you purchase, you get a token to use on the giant vending machine. You are able to win fun little prizes, like limited edition stickers and Tamagotchi. If you are a Louis Vuitton Murakami collection lover like me, you will enjoy this little pop-up. However, given that there are very few items to purchase, and the café is closed, there’s not a ton to do for the long wait. I wish that they had more interactive activities or games as well as more archival pieces displayed along the new collection releases.
