A U.S. Army soldier is being praised online after helping a mother and her toddler make a departing flight at Dallas Love Field Airport. The incident, which began circulating widely on social media in mid-February, shows the mother, identified as Tia Lucia Walter, rushing toward her gate after final boarding was announced. Realizing she would not reach the gate in time while carrying her young daughter, Walter turned to a uniformed soldier she had never met and asked him to run with her. \Video shows the soldier picking up the toddler and running alongside the mother through the terminal. According to Walter’s posts, they reached the gate before it closed and were able to board the flight. Walter later described the moment as “pure mom survival mode” and said she hopes to properly thank the service member. The soldier’s name, unit and background have not been publicly confirmed.
