Meet Midas - an adorable cat with an extra set of ears. Midas lives in Turkey with her owner, Canis Dosemesi, who adopted her when she was just a little kitten. Midas was born in the backyard of a friend of Canis' in Turkey, and Canis was afraid that this kitten would have adoption problems because of her unusual appearance, so she decided to adopt her herself. Canis named her new kitten after the Greek mythological King Midas, whom the gods taught a lesson by turning his ears into the ears of a donkey. The name certainly fits her, as one set of her ears looks a bit like donkey ears. Veterinarians believe a recessive gene mutation from both parents causes the condition. Canis began posting pictures of the cat in the media. Midas quickly became an Internet star. But despite her celebrity status, she is a very affectionate and loving cat.
