Description
Dreame Technology makes the robot vacuum that cleans your house. Now it wants to make the car that drives you home — and trigger that vacuum automatically when you're 10 minutes away.
EVs and Beyond travelled to Shanghai for AWE 2026 to meet with Dreame's global and local leadership as the company confirmed plans to launch mainstream electric vehicles in New Zealand and Australia by early 2027, potentially ahead of China.
The company presented a 60Ah all-solid-state battery claiming more than 450 Wh/kg cell energy density (twice traditional lithium), alongside its 1399 kW Nebula Next hypercar concepts. But the real story is the family of mainstream EVs headed our way: LFP cells from CATL, 60-80 kWh packs, up to 700 km range, EREV options with 550 km pure electric range, and dedicated right-hand-drive development.
We spoke with NZ Country Manager James Moore and Chief Designer John Warner (ex-JLR, ex-Li Auto) about what's coming.
In this video:
Solid-state battery tech: 450 Wh/kg now, 800 Wh/kg target
Mainstream EV range: LFP, 700 km range, EREV option
Dedicated right-hand-drive, ADR certified, 5-star ANCAP targeted
