Indonesia will ban social media for children under 16. [Subscribe to our Substack newsletter: https://channel4news.substack.com/subscribe] The Communications Minister said children face ‘real threats from exposure to pornography, cyberbullying, online fraud and addiction.’ And they will start ‘de-activating’ accounts from the end of March. It means under 16s will no longer be able to have accounts on what Indonesia are calling ‘high-risk’ platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, X and YouTube.
