PARTICIPANTS OF MARSEW-8 VISIT NAVAL HEADQUARTERS

The participants of 8th Maritime Security Workshop (MARSEW-8) visited Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf interacted with the participants. The Admiral highlighted emerging maritime challenges, evolving opportunities in the maritime domain and the immense potential of Pakistan’s blue economy. The naval chief also dilated upon the impregnable deterrence of Pakistan Navy during Marka-e-Haq and contributions toward regional peace and stability through active participation in the Combined Maritime Forces and Regional Maritime Security Patrols. Earlier, participants were briefed on contemporary maritime threats, Pakistan Navy’s initiatives for maritime domain awareness and coastal community development. The delegation comprising parliamentarians, politicians, bureaucrats, senior armed forces officers, media representatives, entrepreneurs, business leaders and academia acknowledged the significant role of MARSEW in maritime awareness and its contribution towards maritime policy making. They also lauded Pakistan Navy's commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime interests.
