Going into its 9th year in ground. Started out as a 20" shrub in a 1 gallon pot. Has been limbing it up to a tree form. Originally wanting to keep it around 7 ft top. But with the competing height of the Pieris (also tree formed) next to it, decided to let it go taller: 1. so the canopy sits above that of its neighbors 2. so the downward facing blooms show better when they are higher up.
