It is time to officially introduce you to our resilient friend. After a very close community poll, we finally have a name for our brave visitor. With "Hero" and "Barry" neck-and-neck in the votes, it felt only right to combine them: Meet Barry the Hero. This update (Part 5) spans the two weeks since Barry first returned to the backyard. While his trust is still a work in progress, his physical journey has taken a dramatic turn. We’ve observed him learning to balance again and even landing with both feet—a massive sign that his bones are healing. ⚠️ Content Warning: At [07:24], there is a health update showing close-ups of Barry’s feet. In an incredible display of wild instinct, he has begun to chew off the dead tissue to manage his own recovery and prevent infection. It can be confronting to see, but it is a powerful testament to how these birds survive in the wild.
