International Polar Bear Day

27th February each year is Polar Bear Day We lived in the Polar Bear capitol of the year in Churchill Manitoba Canada for 3 years in 1971 to 1974 The bears would wait in Churchill for the sea ice to freeze over so they could go out and hunt seals. The waited in the open garbage dump living off scraps dumped there by local citizens. Modern waste disposal is much more secure and not available for polar bears.
