This contracted shoot I'm solo, hunting invasive feral pigs and foxes. The critters are smashing the oats crops and causing all sorts of mayhem. There's a bunch of kill shots in this video shooting my semi auto 223 Remington assisting property owners with invasive species. That's no joke and a staggering quantity of these pests damaging agricultural industries and the environment in Australia. No these are not pets, can't believe I need to write that, but this legit gets asked or accused more often than you would expect. I'm not shooting for human consumption on this trip, it is purely pest control of invasive species in Australia. These uncontrolled animals are an environmental and agricultural menace, often carrying bacterial and diseases like brucellosis. Pigs are left where they lay as carrion, nothing generally lasts more than a week in the Aussie bush before it's just a few scattered remains. My 223Rem is a Cat D firearm and I have no wish to show this one off further than what's in the content. I'm using 60gr Fiocchi EPN ammunition, and must say, for a 223Rem, it goes alright as you will see !!! I HIGHLY recommend this for those shooting larger critters like pigs and deer with a 223 Remington. You still need to place that pill correctly, upping the projectile weight certainly helps. But, it's not a 308Win which is my preferred calibre for pig work. I use the 223Rem in locations where noise is an issue and while not silent, it is more discreet than a 308Win under some conditions. Thermals, I'm running a Thermion 2 LRF XL50 on the rifle, main thermal scanner is a pair of Merger LRF XL50 binoculars. There's a good amount of secondary monocular footage in this video with the brand new Pulsar Axion Compact XG30. Very cool little scanner and holds true to the name of being compact.
