According to the Delhi Police investigation, Amrita discovered that Meena had stored her private videos and photos, along with those of several other women, on his hard drive. When she confronted him and asked him to delete them, he refused. This led Amrita to plan his murder with her ex-boyfriend Sumit Kashyap and his friend Sandeep Kumar. On the night of the murder, the three allegedly strangled Ramkesh to death inside his room. To erase all evidence, they poured ghee and alcohol on his body and manipulated the gas cylinder to cause an explosion, making it look like an accidental fire. They then fled from the scene, taking his laptop, phone, and the hard disk that contained the sensitive videos. Initially, the case was treated as an accidental fire, but when police found inconsistencies in the forensic evidence and CCTV footage showing suspicious movements around the house, the truth began to surface. Within weeks, the police arrested Amrita Chauhan, Sumit Kashyap, and Sandeep Kumar, exposing the brutal reality of what had happened. Forensic analysis later confirmed that Meena’s hard disk contained intimate videos of nearly fifteen women, along with his study materials. Investigators believe that the fear of those videos being leaked or used for blackmail pushed Amrita to commit the crime. The case has highlighted serious issues around privacy, consent, and misuse of personal data. It also revealed how a forensic science student used her academic knowledge to try to destroy evidence and mislead investigators. What began as a relationship based on trust and companionship ended in violence, betrayal, and death.
