Description
Drum Teacher Reacts: VOLA – Cannibal (Drum Playthrough by Adam Janzi)
This was a highly requested drummer on the channel, and I can absolutely see why.
Adam Janzi is one of those rare players who lives inside the music. His playing is melodic, fluid, and deeply connected to the composition — very much in the lineage of drummers like Josh Eppard (Coheed & Cambria) and Ben Shanbrom (Earthside). Nothing is wasted, nothing is forced.
This request came from long-time channel supporter Mark Kopan, who also shared an important bit of context. Shortly after completing a headlining tour, VOLA returned to Copenhagen to find that a fire had destroyed their storage facility — wiping out instruments, gear, and stage production. Despite that, the band continues to push forward, and performances like this show exactly why they’re so respected.

In this playthrough, keep a close eye on Adam’s left hand — the constant ghost notes, control, and dynamic shaping are doing enormous musical work beneath the surface. This is stream-of-consciousness drumming at a very high level.
If you’ve been seeing Adam Janzi’s name pop up in the comments for months… this one delivers.
