Description

The Pain Network's mission is to contribute, through fundamental fundamental, clinical, evaluative and epidemiological research, to quality of life of Quebecers suffering from chronic pain. Presenter Brent Rosenstein Concordia University https://www.linkedin.com/in/brentrosenstein/?originalSubdomain=ca Abstract and biography Brent Rosenstein is a Ph.D. Candidate in Health and Exercise Science at Concordia University under the supervision of Dr. Maryse Fortin. His projects study the effect of different exercises on paraspinal muscle morphology and function in chronic low back pain. Overall, Brent is passionate about contributing to a healthier and happier society, through research, teaching, community service, or participating in other positive initiatives. His research, combined with his unique experiences, have led him to establish a career goal of helping people with pain live healthier lives. Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most disabling diseases and a major health issue. While exercise therapy is recommended as a first-line treatment, pain-related fear may affect exercise participation. The unique properties of water allow a water-based exercise program be tailored to the needs of those suffering from LBP. This study uses magnetic resonance imaging to investigate the effect of an aquatic exercise program on lower back muscle quality and function, and on pain, disability, and psychological factors in chronic LBP. It aims to gather preliminary data to design a community program to support individuals with chronic LBP that desire to adopt healthier lifestyles while regaining function, autonomy, and quality of life. #pain #chronicpain #science #popularization #scicomm #lowbackpain #lowbackexercises #lowbackpainrelief #lowback #lowbackpainexercises #aquatictherapy #qnjpi #qprn ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ►► Facebook https://bit.ly/3gCakKc ►► Twitter https://bit.ly/31Tj2jh ►► Website https://qprn.ca/ ►► Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/company/rqrd-qprn ►► Instagram https://www.instagram.com/rqrdouleur/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Intro music credit https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Scott_Holmes/corporate-motivational-royalty-free-music/Think_BIG/
