Riding The Widow Maker Jump - Avoriaz, Morzine

This is what riding the Avoriaz Bike Park and the infamous Widow Maker jump is like - found half way down Cap Canaveral run and appropriately named with the number of riders we saw who crashed hard on this feature 🫣 We went out to Morzine in July, right at the start of the school holidays and it was incredible! We did have to contend with a fair amount of rain... which made for some sliding down trails... but the lack of uplift queue was divine. You can see the widow maker (Gross Bert) from the Zore uplift on Super Morzine side... the start of Cap Canaveral (which leads to the widow maker) is just to the right of the Zore uplift and is a fun run down on its own. The trail splits part way down - a red route to the left and blue to the right... stay to the right (the blue) for the widow maker! If you arent quite ready to take on gross bert then try the jumps to the left of the main widow maker - basically stay on that same blue trail and you'll get to the tables (and the kicker mulch jump if youre feeling brave). You can keep pushing back up and repeating all of these or continue to the bottom along the Cap Canaveral trail which leads to a lovely cafe on the right before you get back to the uplift again. #morzine #widowmaker #avoriaz
