Video footage and eyewitness accounts show Pretti holding a phone and attempting to assist others before being tackled by multiple agents and shot multiple times, despite official claims he posed a threat. Pretti, who was legally licensed to carry a firearm and had no criminal record, has since become a focal point of public outrage, political debate, and calls for independent investigations into federal use of force in protest contexts.
