🌪️ SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK – Saturday, June 6, 2026 (19:52Z Update) SPC Risk Level: ENHANCED (Level 3 of 5) Valid through June 7, 2026 7:00 AM CDT 📍 Major Cities in Risk Zones 🟠 ENHANCED Risk: CANADA, budday! Philadelphia, PA, Harrisburg, PA, Bismarck, ND, Billings, MT 🟡 SLIGHT Risk: Columbus, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, Albany, NY, Hartford, CT 📝 Overview An enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms is forecast for portions of the Mid Atlantic and northern High Plains this afternoon and evening. A cold-pool-driven bow echo MCS is tracking eastward across the Mid Atlantic with a history of wind damage and measured severe gusts exceeding 50 knots. Increasing buoyancy with surface temperatures above 90°F and over 1000 J/kg MLCAPE ahead of ongoing storms will support damaging to severe wind gusts, some possibly exceeding 75 mph. Effective bulk shear near 35+ knots is aiding organized storm modes capable of producing damaging wind swaths. In the northern High Plains, multicellular convection is expected to develop late this afternoon and evening atop a well-mixed boundary layer with surface temperatures near 90°F and MLCAPE exceeding 2500 J/kg. Effective bulk shear around 40+ knots will support organized multicells and possibly an MCS, with damaging wind swaths and a few gusts exceeding 75 mph possible. A slight risk remains across the Ohio Valley into the Northeast where a mix of supercells and multicell clusters may produce damaging winds, isolated large hail, and a tornado or two through the evening. ⛈️ Hazards Include 🧊 Large hail (up to 2 inches possible in northern High Plains) 🌪️ Isolated tornadoes possible (mainly Ohio Valley into Northeast) 💨 Damaging wind gusts (some exceeding 75 mph, especially Mid Atlantic and northern High Plains) 🕓 Timeline 2 PM–6 PM CDT: Storm initiation and intensification across northern High Plains and Mid Atlantic 6 PM–10 PM CDT: Peak severe threat with damaging wind swaths and large hail in enhanced risk areas 10 PM–12 AM CDT: Storms weakening and transitioning eastward into the Northeast 12 AM–7 AM CDT: Overnight evolution with diminishing storms across the region 📌 Regional Notes 🟠 Mid Atlantic → Philadelphia to Harrisburg, PA: Damaging wind gusts with bow echo MCS likely this evening 🟠 Northern High Plains → Bismarck, ND to Billings, MT: Organized multicells with large hail and damaging winds expected late afternoon into evening 🟡 Ohio Valley → Columbus, OH to Pittsburgh, PA: Slight risk for damaging winds, isolated large hail, and a few tornadoes through late evening ⚠️ Stay Weather-Aware Residents in Pennsylvania, Maryland, northern West Virginia, and the northern High Plains including Montana and North Dakota should remain alert for rapidly evolving severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the primary threats, with isolated tornadoes possible in the Ohio Valley into the Northeast. Stay tuned to local weather updates and be prepared to take action if warnings are issued. ——————————— In-Vehicle Driver, Man-of-Action - @ReedTimmerWx Navigator, Man-of-Music - @localmanweatherofficial Engineer, Man-of-Iron - @willclay25 Studio Guy in the corner - @brianvotoole, but he doesn't really post anything. he's just laying in the cut, you know?
