Presentation of Credentials of Ambassador Felipe Alejandro Diaz Ibañez, Republic of Chile and Ambassador Jing Quan, People’s Republic of China Malacañan Palace December 11, 2025 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received the letters of credence from two new Ambassadors during the presentation of credentials ceremony at Malacañan Palace on December 11, 2025. First to present his credentials is His Excellency Felipe Alejandro Diaz Ibañez, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile. He previously served as Consul at the Embassy of Chile in the Philippines from 2003 to 2008. President Marcos Jr. expressed his confidence that the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Chile will continue to grow with the return of an old friend to the country, and that both nations will keep fostering an even stronger and closer relationship. Next to present his letter of credence is His Excellency Jing Quan, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China. “I’m sure that there will be many opportunities for us to make the relationship between our two countries stronger, deeper, and more important as the years go by,” the President said, noting that China is one of the Philippines’ most important friends and partners in the world. “I look forward to working with you in managing the differences and intensifying the cooperation between our two countries. Our differences should be the exception in our ties rather than the norm,” he added.
