What happens when the brilliant comedy of John Cleese collides with the pure chaos of The Muppets? When Cleese appeared on The Muppet Show, he spent the entire episode refusing to perform. Complaining about the ridiculous songs and over-the-top chaos, he insists he absolutely will not sing. But by the finale, the Muppets have had enough. They drag him onstage for the famous performance of “The Impossible Dream.” The stage quickly fills with monsters, pigs, and chickens, and at one point the giant monster Sweetums even lifts Cleese’s arms in victory.
