A Prophetic Vision of the Future | Christmas 2025 | Isaiah 9.2-7 (WebTV #571)

The message of the angels to the shepherds was 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men'. We don't have that yet. Everything about the Bible is a prophetic vision of the future. Isaiah 9 talks about trouble, distress and violence in the Land; this is appropriate for the days in which we live; there is so much chaos. Yet we do not despair, we have a hope in Christ. Isaiah chapter 9 is a very prophetic chapter: part of it was fulfilled in the Christmas story, which we celebrate during this season, but what I want you to understand is, the fulfilment of Isaiah's prophecy will be at Christ's Second Coming. The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned... For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and for ever.
