Description
I use this OREI UHD-IPC230-K, HDMI Over Ethernet Extender via CAT6/7-4K@60Hz Up to 230 ft:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B4N9QBJ
to drive a 4K TCL TV from my MacBook Pro over about 25' of Cat6. Whenever I plug it in to my MBP, I get this pattern of pink junk at these very specific pixel locations. If I reset the transmitter with the reset button, or just power-cycle by pulling the plug, the pink junk goes away for 2-3 minutes, and then it comes back. I've tried this over a 4-5 different commercially-crimped Cat6/Cat7/Cat8 cables with lengths ranging from 6' to 50', and the symptom is always the same, in the same place.
I've changed the output resolution on my MBP to 3840 x 2160/60 Hz, 3840 x 2160/30 Hz, 1920 x 1080/60 Hz, and 1920 x 1080/30 MHz, and I always get the same symptom. Unit was purchased in January 2026, and has exhibit this symptom since Day 1.
I ran the cabling up over the ceiling tiles and mounted everything on the wall when it stopped doing it for 10 minutes, and then once I had it mounted and buttoned up, it started doing it again. 🤦🏻♂️.
