Description

June 5, 2026 I had just arrived here at Power Inn Rd to get a train since the new sidewalk pedestrian crossing was built on this side. Little did I know it was an extra Amtrak equipment train with a double header of F59PHI's and a B32-8WH or Dash 8 on the back side with two cars in between. Amtrak Train southbound number 964 on the UP Fresno Sub passes through the Power Inn Road railroad crossing in Sacramento, California. This is the first train I have caught here since the new sidewalk pedestrian crossing was added here. The new sidewalk was built sometime in late May 2026 within the last two weeks of May and is part of the Power Inn Queue Cutter Project that was delayed and running late currently only being worked on in minor small segments. As you can see, the traffic signals aren't done yet either. UP is supposed to replace the crossing signals here with new ones and add signals for the pedestrian path also on this side which is probably why the traffic signals aren't setup yet to be active. If you remember my update post for this in the community tab section, I mentioned that the sidewalk was built not in its planned area and more closer to the current cantilever signal. This is because they had to relocate the sidewalk away from where the PG&E Gas Line is located underground.
