Description

A young Japanese monkey (aka snow monkey; Macaca fuscata fuscata, family Cercopithecidae) was traversing the cliff beside a mountain road. It climbed up a tree of Japanese Bird Cherry (Padus grayana, family Rosaceae) on the way to take a closer look at me. And then the monkey descended the tree and ran off to catch up with the moving troop. Captured in the cloudy afternoon (around 14:30 PM) of early-October 2024 in Japan. When you gaze into the monkey, the monkey also gazes into you. For a full story (text in Japanese); https://sigma-nature-vlog.blogspot.com/2026/02/blog-post_02.html
