Lytham to Blackpool, England 1903 (New Version) in COLOR [60fps, Remastered + Sound Design]

Using a new colorization and restoration process, I’ve brought this rare 1902 footage of tram rides from Lytham to Blackpool to life, complete with immersive sound design. The film opens opposite the Clifton Hotel in Lytham, sweeping across Lytham Green with views of the Windmill and the former pier. The journey begins in Market Square, showing passengers disembarking and capturing landmarks such as the County Pub and ‘Old Tom,’ a tree once standing in Hastings Place. Filmed from the upper deck, the tram slowly moves along Church Road, passing Lowther Gardens and St Cuthbert’s Church before continuing down Cambridge Road, where a steam locomotive can be seen under Blackpool Road bridge. The route then traverses sections of the yet-to-be-built Clifton Drive and St Annes Square, continues north along Clifton Drive, and turns onto Squires Gate Lane. The railway is visible at Squires Gate Bridge, along with trams stored in the sidings, before the tram proceeds down Lytham Road, crossing Lytham Road bridge and offering a rare glimpse of the original South Shore station and platforms. The journey concludes at Station Road, providing a vivid and immersive window into early 20th-century England.
