These massive open-air bee nests can sometimes be feisty, but with a sharp eye and a bit of experience, you can read their mood and suit up accordingly. 🐝 If the bees seem calm, I go for the whole shake. It’s dramatic, but it gives me the best shot at spotting the queen. 🐝 And once the bees are off the comb, I can cleanly cut the wax into neat sections and fit them into hive frames, ready to rehome the entire colony into a new hive. — © Hinterland Bees
