US scraps plans to deploy thousands of troops to Poland

The Pentagon is halting plans to deploy around 4,000 U.S.-based troops to Poland, according to officials. The decision comes after the U.S. announced in recent weeks plans to withdraw roughly 5,000 troops from Germany in the coming months, following a thorough review of the Pentagon's "force posture in Europe and is in recognition of theater requirements and conditions on the ground."
