Municipality Of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte!! San Nicolas is a Historic Second-class Municipality in the Province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Location: It is a Landlocked Municipality in the coastal province of Ilocos Norte, part of the Ilocos Region in Luzon Island. Population: As of the 2020 Census, it has a population of 38,895 people. History: Established by Augustinian Missionaries in 1584, it is the only town in Ilocos Norte named after a saint, Saint Nicholas of Tolentino. The San Nicolas Catholic Church, built in 1701, is one of the Oldest Buildings in the Province and a Must-See Historical Site. Economy/Culture: The town is known for its well-preserved Colonial Architecture and Local Artisan Crafts, particularly those made with Earthen Bricks. The Municipal Hall and Old Town Plaza are also points of Historical Interest.
