Take raw rice and wash it with water. Soak the rice for a few minutes. 2. Take water in a pan and add moong dal to it. 3. Mix it well and cook for 20 mins. 4. Then add in the soaked raw rice and water. 5. Cook the rice and dal completely. Add ghee, mix and keep it aside. 6. Take ghee in a pan, add cashewnuts, raisins and grated dry coconut. 7. Add cardamom, cloves, mix and keep it aside. 8. Take jaggery and water in a pan. 9. Let the jaggery completely dissolve and then add the roasted nuts, fry fruits mixture. 10. Mix it all well and cook for about a minute. 11. Transfer the jaggery mixture into the cooked rice and add ghee. Mix it all well and cook for a few seconds. 12. Turn off the stove and serve the temple style pongal hot and nice. Medu vada Ingredients Urad Dal - 1 cup (soaked) Water - about 1/4 cup Salt - 1/2 tsp Onion - 1 no. (finely chopped) Green Chili - 2 nos. (finely chopped) Curry Leaves Oil For Deep Frying Method Soak the urad dal for 4 hrs Strain the water and transfer the urad dal to a mixer jar.
