SANDY & LUNA SELF FEED 🐥 HIT HUGE MILESTONE AT 6 WEEKS OLD 🏆TUG-O-FISH & CHORTLES! FOBBVCAM 5.16.26

Jackie goes to the front porch and throws her head back and chortles loudly again! Big Bear is now officially awake at 05:10am!! lol Jackie flies off and Sandy & Luna are in charge. They stretch and give some quick beakies to one another. Shadow arrives early with fish #1. Luna mantles and claims it!! Shadow was ready to feed it to the kids but Luna got this handled & begins to self feed. After a few minutes Sandy gets up and intensely watches Luna eating. Sandy will go in for the steal and grabs the fish - they have a tug-o- fish back & forth - Sandy wins! Sandy will then self feed and actually stand on the fish & tear it with those big talons! (Learning that those clown feet do have a purpose!). Sandy self feeds & Luna gets a few bites in there as well. Luna will do one of those musical Poop shots and then come right back to watching Sandy eating. They both will finish the small fish together. Congratulations Sandy & Luna on officially self feeding today. During the next few weeks, they both will develop more strength in self feeding but they will also be fed by both Jackie & Shadow still since they do not know the technique of unzipping a fish yet. Sandy & Luna have grown up so fast! It seems like it was only yesterday they were tiny chicks covered in soft grey down completely vulnerable & helpless & now at 6 weeks of age, they are almost fully grown weighing between 7-9 pounds and their juvenile flight feathers coming in! Last season, Sunny & Gizmo fledged on day 90 & 91 (Sandy & Luna are 41 days old today) so they have a few more weeks until they take flight! What a wonderful privilege we have been given by FOBBV eagle cams to watch Jackie & Shadow raise their chicks! Thank you for watching!
