Cereopsis /Cape Barren goose (Cereopsis novaehollandiae) aggression and pair-bonding behaviour

A pair of cereopsis at WWT Martin Mere. The male bird is aggressive to neighbouring black swans and performs a "triumph display" with his partner. Cereopsis are particularly territorial species, especially around the breeding season. The female bird is displaying repetitive fencing walking, suggesting that she is looking to move into a new area of her enclosure for nest building.
