Convicted murderer returned to prison after temporary release

A convicted murderer who was released in Oshawa earlier this week on a three-day pass as part of his parole process has been returned to custody. Durham police confirmed in a social media post on Thursday that Darren Scott Ray was back in prison. Ray was granted a 72-hour Unescorted Temporary Absence Permit by the parole board, prompting police to notify the public about his release.
