Description
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a "small fire" at a commercial building in Blackwall, east London, in the early hours of Saturday.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said the fire was limited to a string of lead acid batteries at the premises on Nutmeg Lane, with no further damage to the building and no injuries reported.
Crews were mobilised at 4:52 GMT because the fire was in a high-rise building, with firefighters attending from several east London stations. The fire was brought under control by 6:43.
The brigade said the fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by the failure of one of the batteries.
