Description
The JAC N60 EV is an electric truck that clocks in at a post-rebate price of $111,000 + GST, making it not only cheaper than similarly sized diesel trucks to buy, but with no Road User Charges for another 2 years, it's also much cheaper than a diesel to run.
It's no slouch around town either, with 1200 Nm of torque on offer from its 130 kW electric motor, it has more than enough pep to get up to speed in city traffic, while its 106 kWh battery supposedly provides 200 km per charge (we find out if that's true).
This medium-duty truck is also fairly well kitted out with creature comforts & driver aids but it's not perfect, as Gav found out, with charging being the vehicle's only potential Achilles heel. Oh, that and speed bumps, as you'll see in the video above!
