Seattle leaders outline next steps in curbing Aurora Avenue crime and violence

Seattle and regional leaders outlined the next steps on Thursday as residents in north Seattle demand action to curb ongoing violence and crime in neighborhoods near Aurora Avenue North. Seattle City Councilmember Debora Juarez and City Council President Joy Hollingworth appeared alongside Mayor Katie Wilson, Seattle Police Department (SPD) Chief Shon Barnes, Seattle City Attorney Erica Evans, and the King County Prosecutor's Office to provide updates. At the news conference, Mayor Wilson said the area's issues can only be tackled with agencies working together in close coordination.
