Have you lost a cat? Has someone immediately asked you if you’re gonna get a kitten? Did you find that offensive? Why or why not? Losing a cat is incredibly difficult, and the grieving process looks different for everyone. In this video, I share my thoughts on why asking someone if they plan to get a new kitten right after their cat dies can feel insensitive, even if well-intentioned. While you can never truly replace a cat, a much kinder alternative might be asking if they ever see themselves opening their home to another cat down the road.
