This is a tour through Scott’s most famous hut in Antarctica

This is a tour through the largest historic hut in the Ross Sea Region of Antarctica. Built in 1911 to support Scott’s Terra Nova Expedition, and his attempt to be the first to reach the South Pole. He was not. My favourite Antarctic story of all time was from this same expedition. Apsley Cherry-Garrard’s The Worst Journey in the World started in this hut. Him, Bowers and Wilson set off from here to collect emperor penguin eggs in the middle of the Antarctic winter. Well worth a read. I visited this hut on @aurora_expeditions Ross Sea Odyssey.
