Description
► A social media influencer who featured in Louis Theroux’s Manosphere documentary was handcuffed by police after appearing to bait pubgoers during the Three Lions triumph over Mexico.
In footage he posted online, Ed Matthews is seen singing “Mexico get battered everywhere they go”, as he sits on the roadside in handcuffs next to a friend.
Video also shows him taunting pub goers in El Tri colours, along with what appears to be pub management, who looked to have just kicked him out of a bar in Texas.
Mr Matthews, who often provokes people in his videos, claims: “We're only getting kicked out because we’re English.”
The men then appear to head to another bar before Mr Matthews realises, “the police have been called on us”.
Unfazed, and sat on the curb in handcuffs, the England supporters repeatedly chanted: “Mexico get battered everywhere they go!”
One user on X wrote of the footage: "Embarrassing twats, take that shirt off, disgracing our shirt like that."
Mr Matthews hasn’t provided an update of what happened since his involvement with police.
