Arrested For Being Homeless While Trying to Rebuild His Life

He had a job. He was trying to rebuild his life. Then he was arrested for being homeless. Aleksey has a degree in electrical engineering and walked into 30 places looking for work. Instead of help, he lost his belongings, his job, and any chance at stability after being arrested simply for living on the street. This is what people pushing the criminalization of homelessness don’t talk about. After people get out of jail, they’re still homeless, but now they often have a criminal record making it even harder to get hired and rebuild their lives.
