I actually rather enjoyed making this. I first heard of Kix! on an effects video by TBVE2002.
Special thanks to Raver Racer, ZeorangerUK, bluefrog, dylan fagan, and others credited at the end, whose work in archiving the footage is greatly appreciated.
On 19th May 2008, Pop +1 ceased broadcasting at 6 a.m. and was replaced on air by Kix, a British free-to-air channel known for airing cartoons, sci-fi, and anime, including Digimon Data Squad, Ultimate Muscle, Inazuma Eleven, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and most of the Pokémon series. Kix launched on Freesat in August that same year and dropped the exclamation mark from its name in May 2013, continuing to appear in some branding, such as Sky's programme guide, until the following year.
The channel arrived on Freeview in April 2016, following the earlier additions of Pop and Tiny Pop. In August 2017, Kix was rebranded as Pop Max, with no changes to its schedule. In its later years, the channel strangely aired videos from YouTubers such as EthanGamer, Denis Daily, and LankyBox (no, really). Pop Max was removed from Freesat and Freeview in 2024, and later from Sky platforms on 22nd April 2025, effectively closing down the channel. It briefly returned, however, as a FAST channel on Freeview, but closed again a few months later.
This video was released for non-commercial, educational, and historical purposes only. I believe it falls under fair use, and I've credited the original creators/archivists of the logos/idents featured in the end credits of this video. No monetization is made from this channel (by choice). If you feel a video/segment infringes on your rights, please let me know via the About section on the Jonty's Logo Archive channel (instead of striking or filing a privacy complaint), and it will be promptly trimmed from the video or deleted if necessary. Thank you for understanding.
