Senator Ted Cruz recently said in an interview with Tucker Carlson that the Bible commands Christians to support the State of Israel, and that if we bless the State of Israel, God will bless us. Clearly, he and many Christians today are influenced by what is called “Dispensational theology” that began in the 19th century which separates Israel and the Church. As controversial as this is because of the war, in our current cultural moment, Christians have to be clear on this. Who is True Israel? Pastor David Ryu explains that there is ONE covenant people of God throughout history. Remember that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah, and His promise was that He will build His “Church”. The Church is the continuation and fulfilment of Israel. The Church will include a multitude of ethnic Jews and Gentiles redeemed by Christ.
