Description

WVSU Cultural Center, La Paz, Iloilo City June 5, 2026 “You are here because you continued to persevere despite facing I’m sure many difficulties and challenges. You chose to endure the sacrifices that you had to make, knowing that the profession that you seek carries a purpose greater than just personal ambition,” remarked President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during his keynote address at the 3rd Commencement Exercises of the West Visayas State University (WVSU) College of Law in La Paz, Iloilo City. This marks the third batch of WVSU law students to graduate with the Juris Doctor degree since the College of Law was established in 2020. Of the 25 graduates, 17 were students of First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos during their legal studies beginning in 2022. Speaking to the graduates, the President emphasized that success in the legal profession will be measured not by the cases they win or the positions they hold, but by the trust they earn, the fairness they uphold and the integrity they demonstrate. Reaffirming the Administration’s commitment to advancing education and institutional development, President Marcos Jr. highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to expand learning opportunities, including investments in educational facilities such as the new WVSU College of Law building, to support future generations of Filipino professionals.
