Beijing Beef Rice Bowl
Serves: 2-3
Recipe in English
Ingredients:
-Tomato ketchup 4 tbs
-Soy sauce 2 tbs
-Bareek cheeni (Caster sugar) 1 tbs
-Lal mirch (Red chilli) crushed 1 tsp
-Cornflour 1 tsp
-Sirka (Vinegar) 2 tbs
-Dark soy sauce 1 tsp (Optional)
-Water 1/4 cup
-Beef undercut, thin slices 500g
-Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 tbs
-Anday ki safedi (Egg white) 1
-Kali mirch powder (Black pepper powder) 1 tsp
-Baking soda ½ tsp
-Iodized Himalayan pink salt ½ tsp or to taste
-Cornflour 1 tbs
-Soy sauce 2 tbs
-Cornflour 4-5 tbs
-Dalda canola oil 1 Cup
-Dalda canola oil 2 tbs
-Lehsan (Garlic) finely chopped 2-3 cloves
-Red bell pepper (Diced) ½ Cup
-Pyaz (Onion) diced ½ cup
-Chawal (Rice) Boiled
-Cucumber & tomato salad
Direction:
-In a bowl, add tomato ketchup, soy sauce, caster sugar, red chilli crushed, cornflour, vinegar, dark soy sauce, water, & whisk well. The sauce is ready! set aside.
-In a bowl, add beef undercut, thin slices (Pro-tip for perfect thin slices: freeze your undercut for 20-30 minutes, once firm, it holds its shape, making it easier to slice thin slices), ginger garlic paste, egg white, black pepper powder, baking soda, pink salt, cornflour, soy sauce, mix well.
-Cover & marinate for 30 minutes.
-Remove cover, add cornflour, mix well.
-In a wok, add canola oil & heat it (160 C).
-Add beef pieces, fry on medium flame until golden & crispy.
-In a wok, add canola oil and heat it.
-Add garlic, red bell pepper, and onion, mix well & sauté for a minute.
-Add fried beef, mix well, add prepared sauce, mix well, cook on high flame for 1-2 minutes.
Assembling:
-In a serving bowl, add boiled rice, prepared Beijing beef, cucumber & tomato salad!
