Description
Join us on an unforgettable 6-day trek from Astore to Kashmir, where we discovered more than a dozen hidden alpine lakes and untouched valleys. This region is one of the most beautiful and least explored parts of Pakistan, full of crystal-clear lakes, neon-colored waters, and breathtaking waterfalls.
Our journey began in Astore, after traveling from Islamabad. From there, we drove on the famous Shina Road to reach Mir Malik, the last town before the Kashmir border. After a short jeep ride, we reached Shodas, a small Bakarwal settlement, and started our trek with horses carrying our gear.
✨ Highlights of Day 1 Trek:
• Shodas Lake – our first stop, a peaceful alpine gem
• Unnamed Lake (now named) – discovered during the trek
• Neon Lake – named for its unique neon-colored water
• Crystal Lake – incredibly transparent waters
• Kalawa Lake – the largest lake of the day, with the Kalawa Waterfall, one of the biggest waterfalls in Pakistan, right in front of it
We camped at Kalawa Lake, fished in its waters, and watched the stars and galaxy in a truly magical night.
This trek is a must for nature lovers, adventurers, and those who seek hidden gems of Pakistan’s north. Stay tuned for the next episodes as we explore even more lakes and valleys in this remote paradise.
