Trump's goal in Iran was to ensure a ‘mad man’ didn’t get nuclear weapons

US President Donald Trump explains how his only goal for Iran was to destroy its nuclear capabilities. “I said to the American people that it’s time to make a little detour because we have a mad man who wants a nuclear weapon,” Mr Trump said. “I had one goal. They would not have nuclear weapons.”
