Description
I just got back from the dentist- look how white my teeth are.
Actually, I’m going to bolt these teeth to the bucket of my skid steer, but first I need to remove this cutting edge.
First, I tested the bucket to make sure it was on properly and I used the loader arm safety lock.
These bolts are a 10-millimeter allen head and the nut on top is 24 millimeter.
Now I’m sure some of you are saying to just leave the cutting edge on- It’s not compatible with the teeth.
It only uses one bolt hole per position while the teeth take two, and the teeth won’t sit at the right place with the edge installed.
Here you can see the CAT teeth have a ledge that holds them at an exact place on the edge of the bucket.
I reused the bolts from the cutting edge at the top of the teeth, the bottom holes require a slightly longer bolt.
I bought this Milwaukee ½” impact awhile back- it worked awesome for installing these teeth.
The only problem I had- was the 10 mm allen head kept getting stuck in the bolt.
I had to work hard to get it out every single time.
Just curious- does anyone know why this was happening or a better way of doing it?
I’m getting ready to dig out the basement on the custom home we’re going to build.
There’s a lot of shale and rock in that area, so these teeth should make a big difference. @hausplans
