Before Their Eyes Open | Week 1 Australian Labradoodle Puppies | Island Treasures Ep 02

Baci’s Island Treasures puppies are one week old, and this is where things start to get really interesting. Have you ever wondered why newborn puppies keep their eyes and ears closed? Or why they twitch and move in those jerky little bursts? In this update, I walk you through what’s actually happening during this early stage of development and why everything you’re seeing is exactly as it should be. We also talk about weight gain and why not doubling birth weight by day 7 isn’t something to worry about, how Baci is being fed during lactation (and why it looks very different from a regular feeding routine), and what we’re doing to support the puppies’ immune systems from the very beginning. You’ll also meet each of the puppies, see their colours and patterns starting to come through, and hear how everyone is progressing so far. And one of my favourite parts of this stage… watching Baci begin to relax into motherhood, confidently stepping away for short breaks while still staying deeply connected to her puppies.
